Jesus & Salvation
Jesus
Who is He?
Nothing changes us more than our understanding of Jesus Christ, especially as this determines our relationship with Him.
Jesus’ claims about himself were revolutionary, and in the end, where the cause of his death. While he was a “good man” as many accept, his claims to be God are shocking to the core. We are left with three alternatives:
1. He was a madman, OR
2. He was a liar, OR
3. He was God.
Why did He come?
“Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation”
(Colossians 1:15)
Jesus asked his friends “Who do you say that I am?”. Today he asks you and me the same question.
Jesus said, “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10)
So why don’t we automatically have a “rich and satisfying life”? It’s simple: we are dead; spiritually dead.
Dead to God, and unable to connect with Him. As hard as it is to acknowledge, our own behaviour and sin has separated
us from God.
So, as the solution, Jesus offers us eternal life. He saves us from the consequences of our behaviour.
He gives Life …. rich and satisfying now, and eternal life that goes beyond death.
Salvation
After reading the above we must ask “What must I do to be saved?” Paul’s jailer asked him this very question. The answer was simple, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:30)
So how do you do that? Jesus answers that question in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” So we must believe that “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
If you want to find abundant life, eternal life as offered by Jesus, it is just a matter of praying and asking him to give it to you:
Dear God,
I’m praying this prayer because I know that I have done wrong. Please forgive me for all the things I have done wrong in the past.
Jesus, I now put you as Lord of my life. Please keep me focused on the plans you have for me, and I will obey.
I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and now He is Lord over my life.
Thank you for saving me. Thank you that I am now a Christian.
Amen
Congratulations! We’re so excited for you. We’d love to hear if you made a decision. Please let us know by filling out the details below.
